Front Yard Gardening

Welcome to my world of front yard gardening, where the dream of a vibrant oasis comes alive with every flower I plant. But let me be real with you, this picture doesn't look so good! But the transformation is worth it (check it out here).

The sheer hard work that goes into cultivating a flourishing garden can be a physical struggle, but the satisfaction of a creating something beautiful far outweighs the blood (thorns, ouch!), sweat and yes, sometimes tears.

A garden's success begins with the soil, and boy, did I realize that early on. Turning the earth, breaking clumps, and sifting out stubborn weeds and rocks became my daily workout routine. Mixing in nutrient-rich compost and organic matter felt like an act of devotion. Each shovel's plunge was a step toward creating the perfect foundation for a thriving garden that would, hopefully, make heads turn.

You have the weeding woes, watering, pruning, moving rocks, dirt…the list is endless! I was able to tackle much of this recently and continue to tweak and transform my front garden as plans to add a vegetable garden, wildflower garden and a spot for my dilapidated “she shed”, dance in my head. It’s so hard not to get ahead of myself, as the pull is strong to get it all done quickly so I can enjoy the fruits of my labor all summer long. Being in Michigan we have a shorter growing season and have to start over each spring. So, drawing the summer out for as long as I can is the ultimate goal!

Gardening is a dedicated journey, where every drop of sweat, every aching muscle, is a testament to my love for nature and my desire to create something beautiful. Embracing the challenges, relishing the dirt on my hands, I find solace and joy in witnessing the transformation of my front yard into a vibrant oasis. So, fellow gardening enthusiasts, join me on this fulfilling adventure, and let our green thumbs guide us towards the ultimate reward: a garden that reflects our dedication, perseverance, and the satisfaction that comes from knowing we've nurtured something truly special.

Before you go, I'd love to share a video of my gardening journey and the transformation so far. Happy gardening and thank you for your support and may your own gardening endeavors bring you as much joy and fulfillment as mine have brought me.
